January 2012
kayfabe:
I have a fascination with abandoned places, especially amusement parks, so this video about Joyland peaked my interest.
Joyland Amusement Park opened in Wichita, Kansas, United States on June 12, 1949, and was in continuous operation until 2004. The park was founded by Lester Ottaway. In the late 1960s the park was sols to Stanley and Margaret Nelson. The park was showing its age with...

For me, it was a year of changes. Big changes. 750 miles worth of changes. A city full of changes.

A Kindle Touch and tickets to see City + Colour?!
I must have been a very good girl this year.

Make that TWO more good friends who got engaged...
Wowza. It’s gonna be a busy year.
Annnnd another good friend is engaged.
2012 will be the year of the wedding, apparently.
Also:
Yellow Dog has slept on my bed with me since I got back. She takes up 2/3 of the bed, but I don’t mind. I kinda missed that goofball.
It's strange
Today, Wichita, the city I’d lived in for 26 years, seemed almost foreign. New buildings popped up. Favorite places vanished. Neighborhoods I loved seemed less charming. It felt like being in a different city. Not new. Not better. Just off. Like a bizzaro version of my hometown.
