It's official. Bruce and I share a brain.

Primeval = Torchwood + Walking with Dinosaurs -...
I think I get it now.
Wherein I admit that I spent way too much time...
Me: Doctor?
Doctor: Yes, Aimee?
Me: Well, I was wondering...
Doctor: Yes?
Me: The TARDIS? It can go through space and time and stuff, right?
Doctor: Well, yeah.
Me: So can we PLEASE go see Alderaan before the Death Star blows it up?
Doctor: Of course!
Me: REALLY?!
Doctor: No. Not really. That's -- well, that just something entirely different.
Me: Is it because you're British?
Doctor: I'm not--
Me: I KNOW YOU'RE NOT BRITISH. But you sound it. Stop being facetious.
Doctor: Still. What does that have to do with anything?
Me: The Death Star was full of British people. It's the official accent of henchmen everywhere. Well, except on Earth. Here, the Russians and Germans are still the bad guys. But we're a little backwoods. You know this.
Doctor: Do you think I could be a henchman?
Me: Possibly. I mean. We can't all be chiefs. Some of us have to be Indians.
Doctor: Regardless, you are aware that Star Wars is only a movie, right?
Me: I figured that. But I'd always hoped. Thanks for crushing my dream, though. That doesn't hurt at all.
Doctor: ...
Me: Whatever. I'm fine. Just -- Just give me a minute. I need to come to terms with the fact Boba Fett isn't real. Or Hoth. Or Wookiees. Or Ewoks -- actually, no. I'm glad there's no such thing as Ewoks.
Doctor: And no Jar Jar Binks.
Me: I guess that's not so bad. But you still ruined it for me.
Doctor: ...
Me: [sigh]
Doctor: Hey...
Me: [mopey]
Doctor: Heeeeeyyyy...
Me: [frowny]
Doctor: Hey, does some little miss Aimee wanna go see some dinosaurs?
Me: Hmmph.
Doctor: So, there's no Aimee who really, really likes dinosaurs -- which ARE real, by the way -- and happens to be in a time machine?
Me: Fiiiine.
Doctor: That's my girl.
On architecture
I changed my desktop wallpaper to the architecture theme, because it seemed the least repellent option available. I like good architecture. It’s the most innocuous of public art. And, sadly, something that gets tossed to the wayside all too often.
Anyway. I noticed a lot of the buildings were by Frank Gehry. I like his architecture. The Pritzker Pavilion. The Experience Music Project. Very...
On Valentine's Day
If I only get a single day out of the entire year to feel loved, then it’s not a love worth having.
Besides, a good boning doesn’t cost a thing.
Numbers and such.

Oh, and about the loss to Texas.
Taking turns staying up with a teammate whose mother had just died, is a pretty good reason for not giving it your all.
I’m glad Robinson had a good game tonight.
PS - ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!
How do I know I'm getting old?
Any more than a glass of wine and I’m a giggling drunk.
I remember nights where I’d drink Sailor Jerry straight out of the bottle. To be honest, I think I like the Aimee that doesn’t vomit in her own hair a lot more.

Decisions are hard.
I require ice cream.
I have no ice cream.
Procuring ice cream involves going to the grocery store.
Going to the grocery store requires pants.
I have no pants.
So I’m weighing my want for ice cream against my desire to remain pantsless.
This is so hard.
Do people actually watch Jason Statham movies?
It seems like there’s a new one every five minutes and they all look the same.
PS - I did love Snatch.
Then I graduated from college and decided to go peen only. Wait, what?

As the NDP’s headquarters burn, there were fears that the Egyptian National Museum, which houses some of the world’s most ancient artifacts from the old Egyptian civilization and a beautiful collection of ancient whales fossils, would catch on fire too. There were earlier reports - albeit unconfirmed - that some people were looting the museum.
Now Al Jazeera is reporting that...

This weekend in Palm Springs, the Koch brothers are holding a secret, closed-door meeting with elite donors and supporters of the oil industry, the Tea Party and an ultra-conservative, anti-environment agenda.
They will be planning…

O Kansas.
So, I was watching Flock of Dodos - a documentary on the teaching of evolution vs intelligent design in public schools debate - and feeling pretty down about Kansas. It’s pretty rough on our school board (and rightfully so, I think). And it made me sad.
I’m a Kansan. I was born here. I was raised here. But I hate the stigma surrounding the word “Kansan.” Because of the...

You know your boyfriend is sick and you want to see how he’s doing but you don’t want to call because he may be sleeping and he needs his sleep so you see that he’s on chat but he’s away which means that he did wake up this morning which is a good thing but you’re still wondering how he’s doing so you check Twitter and see that he’s still sick and most...

Thank you, American evangelicals. I hope you feel guilty for what you’ve contributed to. But I bet you’re just celebrating.
From the wikipedia article:
According to Jeff Sharlet, Senator Sam Brownback (R.-Kan.) is a Fellowship member who leads a secret “cell” of leading U.S. Senators and Representatives to influence U.S. foreign policy.[80] Sharlet reports...

Not that I’m counting down the days, or anything.

I'm done. De-friended and marked as spam.
I’m more amused than irritated.

Boobs hurt.

Cried watching American Idol.
Cowabunga, dude. I’m-a be surfing the crimson wave.
I've learned a couple of ways to cope with my mom.
Play dead. This works 75% of the time. At the very least, it keeps her from mauling me.
Start reciting Jenny’s prayer from Forrest Gump. “Dear God, make me a bird so I can fly far, far-far away. Amen.” Don’t stop. Ever.
I hate math.
I think it may have something to do with my unorthodox learning history. In 8th grade, our school didn’t have an Algebra II teacher. So I, along with 8 or so classmates from the gifted program, had to take a short bus to the closest high school 3 days a week. We had to leave our previous class early and leave the high school math class early to accommodate driving time.
It was awful. I...

She is the black mother who was convicted of a felony and sentenced to jail time and probation for sending her two daughters to a school in a different district. As you have probably guessed, the school they attended is safer and whiter than the one in the girls’ neighborhood. The school hired a private detective to catch this woman.
She’s in need of donations to appeal the...

Nuclear disarmament and control is a good thing. Though both countries included weasel out clauses. Joy.

Random thoughts.
I want to teach but I don’t like the way the education system is set up.
I don’t like how disjointed education is. Because a deficiency in one area severely affects one’s ability to understand and synthesize information from another area.
For instance, I think that literature, art and music should be taught in one course with historical undertones. Given the state of many...

I’m trying not to dog on Kansas too much, even though I’m leaving. But, based our new governor’s proposed budget, I think I’m leaving just in time.
